Swing 'U' Out

SwingUO presents Swing 'U' Out, a weekend of swing dancing held in the heart of the capital. The event features a variety of workshops, competitions, social dances, live music, and performances, with guest instructors joining from Montreal and Toronto.

Friday, Oct. 16

• 19:45–23:30: Social Dance by OSDS with live music by Dr. Jazz at St Joseph's Parish Hall.

Saturday, Oct. 17

• 10:00–11:20: Workshop 1: Solo Jazz with Ishaaq Jiffry at Desmarais Hall.
• 11:30–12:50: Workshop 2: Rhythm Variations in Charleston with Ashley & Mohammad at Desmarais Hall.
• 14:30–15:50: Workshop 3: Up-Tempo Lindy Hop with Ashley & Mohammad at the Polish Combatants Association.
• 16:00–18:30: Competitions at the Polish Combatants Association.
• 20:00–01:00: Social Dance with live music by the Capital City Stompers, including performances and competition finals at the Polish Combatants Association.

Sunday, Oct. 18

• 10:00–11:20: Workshop 4: Collegiate Shag with Ishaaq & Laura at the Polish Combatants Association.
• 11:30–12:50: Workshop 5: A Fresh Take on Lindy Hop Classics with Ashley & Mohammad at the Polish Combatants Association.
• 13:00–14:20: Workshop 6: Aerials with Alex, Bill, Alec, & Paul at the Polish Combatants Association.
• 14:30–18:30: Social Dance with music by DJ Booshwash at the Polish Combatants Association.
