Why we started
Dance events were everywhere. Finding them was the hard part.
Existing event platforms were not designed around how dancers make plans. Dates, locations, styles and levels were scattered across feeds, stories and separate organizer pages. Important nights disappeared into the noise.
So we decided to build one reliable source for dance events—and go further. QoreBeat is becoming a community that values dancing and genuine connection, rather than attention, performance and endless scrolling.
What is in a name?
QoreBeat
“Core” is the centre: the part that holds us steady, lets us move and makes every turn possible. We write it with a Q because QoreBeat is our own rhythm—a shared pulse that begins with the music and travels through every dancer on the floor.
The beat is where dancers meet. It gives us timing, invites us to listen and turns two individual movements into one conversation. That is the kind of technology we want to build: useful, human and always connected to the music.
Musically, we use “core beat” to mean the pulse and recurring accents that give a song its spine. In an eight-count salsa phrase, 1, 3, 5 and 7 can feel like recurring anchors, while the full pattern—commonly stepped on 1-2-3 and 5-6-7—creates movement around them. The accents shift with the arrangement and salsa tradition; what matters is finding the shared pulse.
