Danse ANIMA: A Movement Experience with Live Improvised Music

Danse ANIMA is a movement experience co-created with live improvised music by artists from the Jamhouse Collective. It is a 2-hour journey into the invisible architectures we weave together through listening and moving, a space where music and movement arise in dialogue.

Nico Couto guides the entry into this experience with an embodied preparation, inviting you to ground, relax, and tune into your dance. Jamhouse musicians interact with participants and each other to support a continuous field of listening and deep play. This is neither a performance nor a dance party; it is a shared practice of radical presence, embodiment, and co-creation.

Program

• 7:00 PM — Doors open, arrival, socializing
• 7:20 PM — Opening circle, guided movement preparation, free movement experience
• 9:30 PM — Final resonance, closing circle
• 10:00 PM — End

*Doors close at 7:20 PM sharp: closed space, you must arrive before the opening circle begins.

Accessibility and intensity

Intensity: low to moderate (with moments of more dynamic expression).

This practice includes:

• movement and stillness
• listening-based improvisation
• interaction with live music
• solo and group exploration
• reflective and ritual elements

Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace and engage according to their capacity.

Cost per event: $35–$45 (sliding scale according to your means). Limited spaces, advance registration required. Tickets on the Jamhouse website.
