The story and feeling of West Coast Swing
West Coast Swing is a versatile, smooth partner dance defined by its linear movement and elastic connection between partners. Known for its signature 'slotted' style, it invites dancers in the Montreal area to improvise to a diverse array of music, from current pop hits to blues and R&B.
What to Expect
- Fluidity: The dance focuses on a rhythmic, creative conversation rather than rigid, pre-set patterns.
- Social Connection: Events in our local scene are welcoming and centered on shared musicality, making them a great place to meet new dance partners.
- Inclusivity: Because West Coast Swing prioritizes connection and musicality over complex, rigid footwork, it is highly accessible to newcomers and open to dancers of all backgrounds.
