What is Rueda?

Rueda de salsa (often just called *Rueda*) is a social dance where couples form a circle and follow calls from a leader. Each call prompts a coordinated move—such as a turn, a swap of partners, or a group figure—executed by everyone at the same time.

How it feels

The energy is lively and communal. You’ll be moving to the same salsa music as the rest of the circle, sharing quick, syncopated steps while constantly changing partners. It’s a great way to practice timing, footwork, and connection in a supportive group.
