Salsa Cuban in Trois-Rivières

Cuban Salsa, often referred to as Casino, is characterized by its circular movement patterns and playful, conversational connection between partners. Unlike linear styles, the dance moves around a common center, constantly rotating in space.

The Feel of the Dance

Focus remains on grounded, earthy weight and relaxed body movement, often incorporating elements of Afro-Cuban rumba and son. You will notice dancers frequently changing positions and weaving in and out of complex knots while maintaining a steady, rhythmic pulse.

Social Context

In a social setting, the dance is informal and encourages constant adaptation to your partner’s lead or follow. If the music transitions into a Rueda de Casino—a group formation where couples dance in a circle—you will find the group executing coordinated moves called out by a leader, creating a highly collaborative and social experience.
