Driven by the driving pulse of big band jazz, Lindy Hop relies on the iconic eight-count 'swing out' to create a conversation between partners. This partner dance prioritizes a grounded, athletic posture that allows for spontaneous rhythmic play and grounded, elastic movement across the floor.

The Social Experience

• Partner Rotation: In local social sessions, it is standard practice to rotate partners, which helps newcomers meet the community and build communication skills.
• Creative Freedom: While the swing out serves as the foundational anchor, the dance encourages improvisation and personal interpretation of the music's phrasing.
• Open Atmosphere: The Québec scene welcomes dancers of all backgrounds, focusing on collective play rather than formal performance.

Whether you are joining for the first time or returning to the social floor, this community emphasizes mutual support and the collaborative spirit of jazz.
