The core of Tarraxo

Tarraxo centers on grounded, compact movement and a deep focus on musical textures. Rather than relying on sweeping footwork, it prioritizes body isolations and rhythmic weight shifts. This partner dance emphasizes a close, collaborative connection where the lead and follow communicate through subtle torso movements and shared momentum.

Your experience at a local social

When attending a social in the Québec area, you will encounter a space defined by intentionality. The atmosphere favors a slower, more deliberate pace that encourages dancers to inhabit the music's bass lines and percussive beats. It is a shared experiment in movement, focusing on how two dancers interpret the rhythm together through nuanced physical contact.

Approaching the movement

• Foundational focus: Beginners start by establishing a comfortable posture and a secure, responsive connection.
• Non-patterned flow: Communication happens through physical cues and tension rather than memorized sequences.
• Creative freedom: Dancers are encouraged to find individual expression within the constraints of the music and the partner connection.
